# Rebuilding the Frontend for a Large Corporate Website

TIM Group (formerly Telecom Italia) is Italy’s largest telecommunications provider. As a Frontend Developer contracted through Nexse, I contributed to the rebuild of TIM’s corporate web platform, delivering modular, high-performance UI components used across hundreds of templates.

## My Role

- Built responsive, accessible UI components based on Sketch/PSD handoff files.
- Implemented modular SCSS and semantic HTML following BEM and internal design-system rules.
- Optimised performance for both desktop and the dedicated mobile site `m.tim.it`.
- Collaborated with designers, backend teams, and QA throughout Agile-style sprints.
- Used Git, Gulp, BrowserSync, and Jira as part of the delivery workflow.

## Frontend Implementation

Converted complex design assets into reusable components, ensuring pixel accuracy, accessibility, and consistent rendering across devices. Delivered tailored mobile templates for `m.tim.it` to improve loading times and reduce unnecessary responsive overhead.

## Testing & QA

Performed thorough testing with browserSync and physical devices, ensuring correct rendering on mobile and legacy browsers (including Internet Explorer). Used BrowserStack for cross-browser coverage and regression checks.

## Challenges

- Maintaining performance and consistency across hundreds of templates.
- Ensuring full compatibility across mobile, desktop, and legacy browsers.
- Synchronising with distributed teams and variable review workflows.

## What I Learned

The project delivered a scalable, well-structured frontend foundation for one of Italy’s largest corporate websites. Strong focus on semantic HTML, modular CSS, and disciplined QA ensured long-term maintainability and consistent cross-device performance.
